We've done a pretty lousy job of providing updates on the progress of the new FLETCHERWILSON offices over the last year .... but that's not to say we've not been busy behind the scenes. After months of hard graft, '000's cups of tea, '00's of people being called rodents by Ross, not to mention weeks of time spent wrangling contractors we have moved into our new offices and the old space which served us so well for so many years is finally history (well actually it's now a highly efficient East End sweat shop. It used to be a T-shirt printing shop so it's kind of gone back to it's roots).

It was sad to see it go, actually that's not true at all - it was great to see it go - the excitement of moving into new custom made offices has been building over the last year and the last few months in the old offices saw us lacking space and required infrastructure - it was time to move on.

The move was undertaken over the course of a few weeks but it pretty much centred around getting our coffee machine up and running in the new offices. Pretty soon after that we had the monkey turning the handle installed in a custom built cupboard, defended by junk yard dogs and lasers, and we felt ready to move our snow globes in, yup, we were finally home.

Although we're now resident, and even have a new local (sorry Builders Arms - we loved your honestly priced pint and East End Pub swagger that was sufficiently real to scare off hipsters), hello Print House (I hate to say it but I think we're going to be in the HIPSTER'S nest) we haven't finished fitting the new place out yet - there are some key things that are still in the pipeline -

  • Film studio (still a bit of a building site)
  • Video art installation (more on that soon)
  • Signage and video window display
  • Reception area

These somewhat fundamental elements of the fit out deserve their own blog so watch this space.

Suffice to say that when we're done the new home of FW will be a pretty cool mixture of high tech, low tech and dogs.

On with the tour ....

Still a bit of sorting to be done down this end of the office. Not to mention finishing the air conditioning install.
